Tuesday, August 17th, 2010Quotes for the Day
Monday, July 19th, 2010The only way to bring peace to earth is to learn to make our own life peaceful.
The Buddha
Our thoughts and imaginations are the only real limits to our possibilities.
Orison S. Marden
Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.
Helen Keller
Faith is not knowledge of what the universe is, but the conviction that there is a mystery, and that it is greater than us.
Rabbi David Wolpe
If you have made another person on this earth smile, your life has been worthwhile.

The New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Cancer
Saturday, July 10th, 2010On July 11, 2010, there will be a New Moon, and along with it a Solar Eclipse which will occur at 19 degrees and 24 minutes of Cancer. Astrologically, what does this mean?
In general, because Cancer is the sign that represents the home, family, and emotions, you and others may be highly sensitive during this period.
Emotions will run high. There is a focus upon the home and family.
Depending upon just where the sign of Cancer is located in your personal chart, many will be pressed to discard things or relationships that just aren’t working any longer. This would especially be true for anyone who may have the eclipse affecting their fourth house or the house Cancer falls in. Just remember, when one door is closed, another will open.

Deadline… 48 Hours
Wednesday, April 7th, 2010Forty-eight hours ago, I received an e-mail from my publisher with two attachments… cover and text to NEVER TRUST A STRANGER. How could I possibly edit the cover and the text of my manuscript in two days?
Realizing that I had no choice but to comply, I canceled all of my appointments for the next two days. With of several pots of coffee, frozen foods. sandwiches, and very little sleep, I completed my task ahead of time.
The novel will soon be on its way to the printers with a beautiful cover. Just as soon as I know the release date, you may pre-order an autographed copy from me at http://weslynn.com
Coming Soon! Excerpt from Never Trust a Stranger.
“Never Trust a Stranger” by Weslynn McCallister, writing as Jamie Cortland
Sunday, March 7th, 2010After returning from the Sleuth Fest, I discovered that I had received a contract for publication from a traditional publisher for my new suspense novel, “Never Trust a Stranger!”
The novel is about a handsome charismatic man in his late twenties with a Borderline Personality Disorder who develops an attachment to a beautiful and wealthy woman whose husband has just been reported missing in an airline crash.
When he is hired as her gardener and maintenance man, he mistakes her friendly attitude for attraction and vows to destroy anyone he believes is in his way of possessing her body, mind, and spirit.
This novel will be released in late 2010 or 2111. You will want to pre-order this one. I’ll keep you advised on its progress of publication.
I promise you, when you read “Never Trust a Stranger,” you will fine it every bit as suspenseful as “Skin Deep.”
Success
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010Many people have asked me if I consider myself a success.
Most everyone has a special talent in something that they excell in. Those of with high ambitions are always trying to achieve the next level. For a writer, he or she may consider herself a success simply to complete the manuscript of her dreams; another may wish to be published by the best of the New York publishers. But the truth is, success goes far beyond a box office hit, a best selling novel, or a position as a CEO.
Elbert Hubbard believes that “He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much.”
I’m inclined to agree with Mr. Hubbard. So, my answer is, yes, I consider myself to be a success.
